About SamiK
I'm a Library Director for a small(ish) Texas town with a desire to share my love of books and the library with my community.
Currently, I am working towards my MLS (Master of Library Science) from Texas Woman's University (my alma mater!).
When I'm not treading through a pile a school work and work work, I make precious memories with both my handsome men at home. Whether we are playing with the sand between our toes, making a campfire, or just taking in a movie at home, every moment is unique.

Well I've got six books sitting in a general area at home that need to be read. Unfortunately I have neglected my love of reading for awhile. So here is my list of books I'm currently (or about to be) reading:
1. Outlive Your Life - Max Lucado (it is taking me forever to read this one again
2. Blue Bloods - Melissa de la Cruz (I couldn't get past the first page -- I'm not into the vampire stories, so this is going to be a challenge)
3. Lighthouse Nights - Jake Vander Ark (reviewing for Flamingnet)
4. Crossed - Ally Condie (Not going to start until I finish the above---eeek!!!!)
5. The Death Cure - James Dashner (I am most excited about this final installment to the Maze Runner Trilogy but I know if I start this one nothing else will matter, so my Nook remains off and hidden until the right time)
6. XIV - Julia Karr ( I'm looking forward to this one but it is nowhere near a priority at this time)
Looks like between work and classes there won't be much time for sleep! :)
and now time for the "more"
I had a pleasant surprise today at work when I was called back to the Youth Room and met blogger Cristina. Check out her blog here. She took home three of our YA arcs for review. Anxious to see them arrive! Also looking forward to my late start in the read-a-thon she is participating in. Read more about it here.
I'll follow up with more information on the read-a-thon and the books.

About the Author
Welcome to Peace, Love, and YA! Let me introduce myself (since we will be spending so much time together). I'm SamiK, pronounced Sami K. (Samantha Kristine) as my Great Aunt Polly use to call me. Prefer dystopian and realistic fiction but the paranormal genre has been surprising me lately.

Your list sounds a LOT like mine! lol I've heard the Blue Bloods series is Amazing!! Melissa was in Houston last wk doing a signing, but I'm not into the whole vampire scene either! I bought the last copy of Crossed at Hasting's when it came out! Squeee!!! I'm trying to finish up an egalley so I can start on it! I thought XIV sounded really intriguing! I can't wait to read and send you my reviews for the arc's I snagged from ya'll today! They had a bit of an accident on the way home with a Cherry Limeade from Sonic at happy hour. *looks sheepish* THey are drying out at the moment after some stain removal work. lol
Here is the link to the other read-a-thon for charity I'm working on. It's still in the process but check here for the updates! www.acausetoread.blogspot.com
It was wonderful meeting you today! I thought I was the only YA blogger around this area! So glad to meet someone else! Btw your blog is adorable!!! :)
